Chicago is one of the largest cities in the United States and the biggest city in the Midwest. Despite this, Chicago was hit hard when housing prices plummeted from 2008 until 2011. In most Chicago neighborhoods, housing prices started climbing back up in 2012 and in some neighborhoods the prices are far higher than the pre-crash highs. However, in other markets, prices were still testing the lows until 2014 before they began their ascent yet many markets still remain significantly below the highs. Despite the collapse of the Chicago housing market with regards to sales prices, rental prices during this same time period skyrocketed. This unique climate has made Chicago a very attractive city in which to buy investment properties – if you know the right places to look.
We do. Our investors appreciate the on-the-ground, in-the-trenches knowledge and instinct we bring to our acquisitions and management endeavors. Icarus Investment Group has been purchasing properties in Chicago since 2012.
